Come see the manatees at the TECO Manatee Viewing Center. The viewing center will re-open once the bay water drops down to 68 degrees. The manatees migrate there in the winter because of the warm water produced by TECO Power Plant power station’s discharge canal, where saltwater – taken from Tampa Bay to cool Unit 4 – flowed, clean and warm, back to the bay. There will be hundreds of manatees in the canal. Take pictures and enjoy videos inside the museum about manatees, there is also a cafe shop inside.
